About the Hans Frei as a 10 course renaissance lute

The description refers to a standard version of the instrument. At your request other kinds of wood can be used. You can also order this lute in a more elaborate design.

 

Back: 11 ribs of cherry (heartwood and sapwood) with fillets.

Neck: Spruce veneered with rosewood.

Pegbox: Veneered with rosewood.

Soundboard: Spruce with edge of ebony.

String length: 67.5cm

Frets: 9 tied gut frets and 3 fixed frets.

Pegs: Boxwood or Fruitwood coloured black

Bridge: Fruitwood

Fingerboard: Ebony

Courses: 10

 

The string length could be shortend, but with less than 65 cm it may look a little strange.
